C. Scott McEnroe, MD, FACS

Vein Center Medical Director
Dr. McEnroe received his medical degree from Albany Medical College in Albany, New York, and finished his general surgery residency at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY. In 1988 he completed his vascular research fellowship and clinical vascular fellowship at Tufts, New England Medical Center, in Boston, MA.

Dr. McEnroe practices with Vascular & Transplant Specialists. He is board certified by the American Board of Surgery in both general and vascular surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS). Dr. McEnroe has a special interest in venous disorders, was a recipient of the Sigvaris Award for his contributions in venous research, and is assigned to The Vein Center of Virginia, an affiliated clinical division of Vascular & Transplant Specialists, which focuses on the surgical and medical treatment of complex and cosmetic venous problems.

Dr. McEnroe sees patients at both our Virginia Beach and Port Warwick III locations.


F. Noel Parent, III, MD, FACS, RVT

Dr. Parent received his medical degree from Jefferson Medical College, Philadelphia, PA, in 1989, after completing his vascular surgery fellowship at the University of Arizona in Tucson. Dr. Parent is certified by the American Board of Surgery in both general surgery and vascular surgery. He is currently an assistant professor of surgery at Eastern Virginia School of Medicine.

Dr. Parent's interests include the management and treatment of varicose veins using minimally invasive treatment techniques. He has co-authored and published numerous vascular disease and vascular surgery articles. Dr. Parent has a special interest in the surgical and medical treatment of complex and cosmetic venous problems with 17 years experience in sclerotherapy and venous surgery.

Dr. Parent is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS), a member of the Society for Clinical Vascular Surgery, a registered vascular technologist (RVT), and serves on a number of hospital advisory boards and committees.

Todd W. Gensler, MD, FACS

Dr. Gensler is a native of Carlisle, PA. He received his medical degree from Hahnemann University School of Medicine in Philadelphia and trained in general surgery at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington where he also completed his vascular surgery fellowship. In 1997, Dr. Gensler began practicing general and vascular surgery with Carolina Surgical Care in Elizabeth City, NC. While practicing in Elizabeth City, he served as chief of surgery at Albemarle Hospital, treasurer of the hospital's medical staff, and medical director of the hospital's peripheral vascular laboratory. He joined Vascular & Transplant Specialists in 2004 and continues to maintain a busy clinical arterial and venous practice.

Dr. Gensler is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS) and is board certified by the American Board of Surgery in vascular surgery and general surgery.

Dr. Gensler has a special interest in carotid disease as well as minimally invasive intervention for lower extremity and mesenteric arterial occlusive disease.

Michael E. Landis, MD, FACS

Dr. Landis earned his medical degree from Georgetown University Medical School in Washington, DC. in 1993 after receiving his MS in Physiology at Georgetown in 1989 and his BA at Washington University in St. Louis in 1984. He went on to complete his residency in General Surgery at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN, in 1999. He then completed a research and clinical fellowship in Vascular Surgery at Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard Medical School in Boston, MA, in 2001.

As a specialist in vascular surgery, Dr. Landis has extensive experience in private practice, clinical and hospital settings. He is the former Chief of the Division of Vascular Surgery and Director of the Vascular Laboratory at the Indiana Vascular Institute at St. Francis Hospital in Indianapolis, IN. His clinical interests include endovascular aortic aneurysm repair, carotid disease, and minimally invasive treatment of arterial and venous insufficiency.

Rasesh M. Shah, MD, FACS

Born in Bombay, India, Dr. Shah has lived most of his life in the U.S. A cum laude graduate of the University of Rochester, he received his medical degree from the University of Vermont College of Medicine. Dr. Shah trained in general and vascular surgery at the State University of New York at Buffalo Affiliated Hospitals, where he completed his vascular surgery fellowship in 1993. He is certified by the American Board of Surgery in both general and vascular surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS).

Dr. Shah joined Vascular & Transplant Specialists (formerly known as Virginia Vascular Associates) in March 2001 where he serves on its board of directors. Prior to relocating to the Hampton Roads area he was in private practice for seven years with the Buffalo Medical Group where he held an appointment as an assistant professor of surgery with the State University of New York at Buffalo. Dr. Shah is especially interested in the treatment of carotid artery disease and aneurysmal disease using open and endovascular surgical techniques. He is experienced in the placement of FDA-approved aortic endografts and with all types of peripheral endovascular interventions.

Linda C. Furlough, RN

Nursing Supervisor
A true "local", Linda grew up in Virginia Beach and graduated from Princess Anne High School. She earned her nursing diploma from Norfolk General Hospital School of Professional Nursing. In the past, Linda’s clinical responsibilities have included in-patient cardiovascular nursing care, circulating nurse for a suite of vascular surgery operating rooms, head nurse for a cardiovascular intensive care unit, and head nurse for a suite of 15 operating rooms at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.

Linda currently serves as Vascular & Transplant Specialists' nursing supervisor. She is a member of the American College of Phlebology and works closely with Dr. McEnroe and Dr. Noel Parent to ensure that each Vein Center patient receives the care she or he expects. She has over eight years of experience with sclerotherapy.

Linda resides in Chesapeake with her husband and sons. She enjoys shopping for shoes and spending all of her disposable income on her sons.


Patti E. Holt, RN

Vascular Nurse Specialist
Patti is a Virginia native and has lived in the Hampton Roads area all her life. She received her nursing diploma from Riverside Hospital in 1978 and has worked in Intensive Care and Coronary Care. She was also involved in the formation of one of the Peninsula's first non-invasive vascular labs. She functioned as the circulating nurse for a plastic surgeon, and is interested in anti-aging, cosmetic procedures. Under the direction of Dr. Parent and Dr. McEnroe, Patti has mastered vein injection techniques and enjoys helping her patients look and feel their best.

Patti loves the sun and water and enjoys them every chance she gets at her home in Chick's Beach. She earned her MFA in creative writing and writes short stories and poems. In her spare time she likes to exercise, cook, and draw.


Janine Derkas, RN

Vascular Nurse Specialist
Janine received her nursing diploma from River School of Nursing. She also has experience working in the Intensive Care Unit and Coronary Care Unit, and the Emergency Room. She has been with the Vein Center of Virginia at Port Warwick III since it has opened in 2008. Janine takes great pride and pleasure in helping her patients achieve the most from their treatments.
